Akasa Introduces Kepler: A 2U Rackmount Fanless Case Designed for Silent Computing in Industrial Applications

2U Micro-ATX case with 150W AC-to-DC fanless PSU, hot-swap drive bays and support for Intel® Core™ (Ultra) processors up to 35W TDP.

November 3, 2025 | Press Release

LONDON, England, November 03, 2025 – Akasa, a leading provider of thermal solutions, has launched the Kepler, a 2U rack-mountable, fanless case for Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards. The Kepler provides passive cooling for Intel® Core™ (12th-14th Gen) and Core™ Ultra (15th Gen) processors up to 35W TDP and integrates a 150W fanless ATX power supply, intended for use in industrial server, control, telecommunications and broadcasting applications where silence and reliability are key.

Kepler Fanless Case

The chassis is compatible with Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards with Intel® LGA1851 and LGA1700 sockets, supporting Intel® Core™ (12th/13th/14th Gen) & Core™ Ultra (15th Gen) processors with a thermal design power (TDP) of up to 35W.

Its fully fanless design utilises a high-performance aluminium thermal module and dual copper heatpipes to transfer heat efficiently from the CPU to the external aluminium fins, increasing surface area for rapid dissipation into the surrounding air without any moving parts.

The front interfaces include two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and four 2.5” SATA SSD/HDD drive bays with tool-free, lockable, hot-swap trays. The rear features support for up to four low-profile PCIe expansion cards. Two pull-out handlebars offer easy installation and servicing when used in standard 19” server racks.

Integrated Power Supply Unit (PSU)

The Kepler is equipped with a 150W fanless AC-to-DC ATX PSU, designed for silent, reliable and continuous operation. It delivers multi-voltage output (+3.3V, +5V, +5V standby, +12V, -12V) and supports full range AC input (90–264 VAC).

Operating reliably between the temperatures of -10°C to 70°C, it achieves up to 83% efficiency with Class D active power factor correction. Built-in over-voltage, over-temperature and short-circuit protection safeguards the PSU and connected components, alongside compliance with BS IEC 62368-1 and UL 62368-1 ITE safety standards. Meeting EMI EN 55022 Class B standards offers interference-free operation in sensitive electronics environments.

ATX 24-pin main connector, 4+4-pin CPU connector, SATA power connector and mains plug power cord are included, with EU, UK and US main plug types offered currently (additional configurations may be available on request).

Applications

Kepler is suitable for applications where reliability, low noise and passive cooling are priorities, including:

  • Industrial automation and control systems
  • Embedded computing and servers
  • Audio-visual and broadcasting equipment
  • Telecommunications solutions
  • Medical and laboratory instrumentation
  • NAS/RAID storage systems

Its fanless design reduces mechanical wear and vibration, providing quiet, long-term stability under continuous operation.

The Kepler fits in standard 19-inch server racks, making it suitable for a range of industrial server applications
