Akasa Introduces M.2 NVMe SSD to PCIe Adapter Card with Removable Tray for IT Administrators, System Integrators and PC Builders

Delivers up to 64 Gbps on a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, with a removable tray and secure latch for fast, tool-free SSD installation across Windows, Linux and Mac systems.

August 7, 2026 | Press Release

LONDON, ENGLAND, 07 August, 2026 – Akasa, a leading provider of computer hardware and PC accessories, has launched the M.2 NVMe SSD to PCIe adapter card with removable tray (AK-PCCM2P-06), enabling IT administrators, system integrators and PC builders to install an M.2 NVMe SSD into a free PCIe slot on a desktop, workstation or server. The adapter card delivers data transfer rates of up to 64 Gbps on a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and houses the drive in a lockable, removable tray built for environments where drives are swapped on a regular basis.

Compatible with PCIe x4, x8 and x16 slots, the adapter card is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 x4 at up to 32 Gbps, providing broad compatibility across desktop, workstation and server motherboards. Its removable drive tray allows an M.2 SSD to be installed or replaced without removing the adapter card from the PCIe slot, minimising downtime during maintenance or drive swaps.

The tray accommodates M Key M.2 NVMe SSDs in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors, covering a wide range of drives currently on the market. A built-in movable clip secures the drive in place without need for separate mounting screws, while a latch and key lock protect the tray against unauthorised removal, an important safeguard for shared workstations or any environment where physical access to storage needs to be controlled.

Equipped with a stainless steel body and tray for structural rigidity, the adapter card features an aluminium heatsink and thermal pads to draw heat away from the SSD to maintain stable performance under load. A green LED shows power status and a yellow/green LED indicates drive activity. Both full-height and low-profile brackets are included for compatibility with standard ATX, mATX and compact SFF builds.
